Hello People! I am Tandavaa and this is Day 13 of the 90 days of writing challenge; Last year around this time I gifted myself 5 books and finally committed to reading regularly. Hands down this has been the best thing I've done for myself. I today wanna share exactly that and maybe I can help you get started with reading, but first a little back story? Okay, we’ll back story in the newsletter?

The books I ordered were - Mindset by Carol Dweck, Hyperfocus by Chris Bailey, The Courage to be Disliked, India that is Bharat by JSD and I don't remember the last one.

At the start, it was difficult to read every day and I was making mistakes like every other newbie, but as I picked up the book repeatedly, each passing day made the habit stronger and reading a normal thing for me on a day-to-day basis. I eventually overcame those obstacles and errors, with these realizations/ hacks

  1. Start with something you’ll love to read until you love reading.
  2. Start with reading just one page every day.
  3. Set up a specific time and place to read.
  4. Always keep a book with you.
  5. Surround yourself with readers ( Pro tip )
  6. It’s okay to fail, but not okay to give up
  7. Keep a reading log ( lmk if you want me to expand on that? )

My newfound love for reading didn't come instantaneously; it took some time. However, by the final weeks of December 2022, I had spent over 20+ hours reading and eventually came to love it. Trust me, delving into books has the power to expose you to unimaginable opportunities. ( just like your POW can land you in amazing places )

So lastly, next time you find yourself around Miss Bo? try picking up a book?

Also, if you already are a reader? then drop me some suggestions? I’ll say gifting is a better option? :)

Greatness is coming ⚡
